Job description
We are looking for Online Teachers (German) (Freelancer) who want to pioneer a new product offering for immigrants who are looking to integrate into Germany. This new blended learning German language course will focus on an intensive German course, taking students successfully from A1-B1.
You will:
- Teach the Intensive German Course (A1-B1 level)
- Engage in introductory calls with prospective learners to provide guidance on the program and encourage them to join a course. Successful conversions will be incentivised.
- Support with curriculum feedback and provide guidance on in-class activities.
- Provide between 10-20h of availability per week. Each course could last up to 9 months.
You have:
- A valid DAF teaching certificate
- Proven experience with getting students to pass the B1 exam
- German & English language skills (native proficiency)
- Previous online teaching experience teaching large groups of students (up to 20)
- Knowledge of the CEFR framework
- Experience in the field of language learning and familiarity with the digital self-study market
- A tax number for freelance work (not necessarily issued by the German authorities)
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of other languages is a strong plus (Ukrainian, Arabic).
Knowledge of migration/integration courses in Germany.
Familiarity with the Babbel app
Previous experience in a fast-paced start-up environment is a strong plus.
A university degree in German Teaching, Education, Linguistics, or a related field
A passion for languages and cultures
This is a remote freelancer position to start within the next few weeks
We require availability in the following time slots (Morning: 9:30-11:30am CET // Evening: 5:00 - 7:00pm (CET)
Candidates with evening availability will be prioritised.
