Dane Street is expanding our physician panel! This is a telework opportunity for supplemental income for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis.
Candidates must be Board Certified in Pathology and hold an active medical license.
JOB SUMMARY
As a Physician Advisor for Disability Peer Review, you will leverage your expertise in pathology to review cases and provide expert opinions on the medical necessity of treatments and claims. The Physician Reviewer will ensure that all reviews adhere to client-specific policies and nationally recognized standards of care.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct detailed reviews of medical records pertaining to pathology to address client inquiries using appropriate criteria and guidelines.
Ensure that determinations are clear, concise, and supported by sufficient documentation.
Identify and apply current clinical guidelines, evidence-based resources, and peer-reviewed literature to support objective decision-making in assessments.
Provide timely reports that include any relevant criteria used during the review process.
Complete reviews and return cases by specified deadlines.
Perform follow-up communications as required based on case-specific needs.
Maintain active licensure and certifications essential for fulfilling the job requirements.
Engage in mandatory training and orientation sessions.
Address quality assurance issues and participate in audits or further reviews as necessary.
Board certification in Pathology and active practice required.

Dane Street supports all referral processes, scheduling, preps cases extensively, prepares all medical records, provides transcription services as applicable, facilitates all client communications, and ensures the quality and timeliness of all reports and report delivery.
