Job Description

๐Ÿš€ย The Job Missionย You will play a crucial role as a Mechanical Engineer on the Hinkley Point C project, fully embedded into the client function. You will be reporting to the Engineering Lead , and your expertise will ensure that the mechanical equipment meet stringent safety and regulatory standards, while interfacing with various stakeholders to resolve complex design challenges.ย This is a hybrid role, with three days based in the Bridgwater office and two days working from home.

โšก๏ธ Respond to general queries, non-conformances, change & exemption requests.

โšก๏ธ Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulation requirements.

โšก๏ธ Challenge and align design decisions with project strategies.

โšก๏ธ Coordinate support from external organizations as needed.

โšก๏ธ Contribute to the resolution and closure of outstanding technical issues.

โšก๏ธ Assess and address technical risks within the mechanical scope.

โšก๏ธ Maintain strong relationships with Responsible Designers and stakeholders.

โšก๏ธ Report operationally to an Engineering Lead.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

๐Ÿ›  Extensive experience working on a large construction project

๐Ÿ›  Experience in mechanical installation and/or commissioning.

๐Ÿ›  Strong understanding of industry standards such as BS, CDM, EN, ASME.

๐Ÿ›  Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Desired Skills:

โœ”๏ธ Experience in multidisciplinary technical environments.

โœ”๏ธ Strong stakeholder management skills.

โœ”๏ธ Understanding of welding techniques would be an advantage, but not essential.

โœ”๏ธ Experience in a site-based engineering role.
