Job description
Salvo Software is a fully remote, engineering-driven company focused on delivering high-quality software solutions. We partner with global automotive and industrial clients to build innovative technologies that power the future of mobility.
We are looking for a Project Manager with a strong background in automotive software development, including hands-on experience with diagnostics, embedded systems, and in-vehicle communication protocols. This role requires someone who can bridge the gap between technical complexity and delivery excellence while leading distributed teams across geographies.
In this role, you’ll:
Lead and coordinate end-to-end software development projects for automotive clients.
Work closely with engineering teams to plan, track, and deliver embedded software solutions.
Understand and support technical topics including diagnostics, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and low-level communication protocols.
Act as a point of contact between clients and internal technical teams, ensuring alignment on requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
Manage risks, dependencies, and technical challenges in high-complexity environments.
Ensure documentation, testing, and validation processes align with automotive standards and expectations.
7+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in automotive software projects.
Solid understanding of embedded systems, diagnostics, and real-time development.
Technical knowledge of CAN, SPI, I2C, and RTOS environments.
Experience working with teams developing software for ECUs, vehicle diagnostics, or related automotive components.
Proven success managing remote, cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong understanding of automotive industry processes and standards (e.g., ASPICE, ISO 26262 is a plus).
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Familiarity with tools such as Azure Devops, Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Google Workspace.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with a problem-solving mindset.
