Position Summary:
MetroSys is seeking a Commvault Resident Engineer to support a global data protection initiative involving the phased replacement of Dell IDPA systems with Commvault Media Agents and Dell Data Domains. This position will support the full backup lifecycle including policy configuration, troubleshooting backup failures, and documenting site-specific configurations for handoff to customer teams.
The engineer will work closely with deployment teams and customer stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of Commvault media agents into a centralized Cloud CommCell environment. This role requires a deep understanding of backup technologies, multi-platform data sources, and enterprise-scale infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure Commvault backup policies for a wide range of workloads and applications.
Deploy and integrate Commvault Media Agents and Data Domain appliances at each site.
Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures across diverse environments.
Attach Media Agents to centralized Cloud CommCell for unified management.
Work directly with site and global teams to ensure successful deployment and validation.
Document configuration steps, settings, and site-specific information for post-handoff use.
Coordinate start/stop services as site deployment schedules dictate over an 18-month rollout.

Databases: MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, MongoDB, DB2, Oracle
Virtualization/Cloud: VMWare VMs, Azure VMs, Azure SQL, OCI, OLVM, AKS
OS & Platforms: Windows, AIX, RHEL, SUSE
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with Commvault backup and recovery, especially in enterprise/global environments.
Deep expertise in Commvault policy creation, Media Agent management, and troubleshooting.
Experience integrating with Dell Data Domain storage.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, OCI) and hybrid data environments.
Excellent documentation and communication skills for technical handoff.
Willingness to travel internationally per site rollout schedule.
