Job description

Praytell is an integrated marketing and creative communications agency made by teams with strategic minds and spirited hearts. We create timely, integrated, headline-worthy campaigns across social, earned, digital and more. And we’ve picked up some pretty cool awards along the way, like PRWeek’s Best Place to Work (8x so far!), Agency of the Year and even a few your mom would recognize, even if she doesn’t fully get what you do for a living. Best of all, we’ve got a team of the smartest, kindest, most curious and supportive humans on the planet.

And guess what? There’s an empty seat here with your name on it. If you’re looking for an opportunity to join an ambitious team that is singularly focused on doing great work with great people, we’d love to hear from you!

Overview:

We’re looking for a Senior Account Supervisor with proven expertise in culturally relevant, integrated PR campaigns. You’ll lead programs that combine media relations, influencer partnerships and social strategies to create authentic, impactful brand stories that earn real attention.

In this role, you’ll serve as a strong #2 or lead on select accounts - managing media relations, thought leadership, content, events and integrated strategies that maximize earned media impact and audience engagement. You’ll anticipate cultural moments and trends to deliver innovative newsjacking ideas, guiding teams on media activations, experiential campaigns and seasonal pitches that support broader brand strategies.

Data-driven and results-focused, you’ll analyze performance and provide clear recommendations, confidently communicating with clients while balancing optimism with sharp focus to meet objectives.

The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of PR and integrated communications experience, working with both small and large brands - ideally in an agency setting and comfortable operating in an IAT. You must be based in New York, and experience with beauty clients is required for this role as you’ll be expected to understand the category inside and out.

If you’re a cultural strategist, storyteller and earned media expert who delivers relevant, results-driven work, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Service

    • Start with ‘Yes’: Lead with optimism while ensuring recommendations are strategic and achievable.
    • Spidey Senses in Tune: Anticipate client needs and market changes, proactively adjusting plans as needed.
    • No Ego, No B.S.: Guide teams with clarity, focusing on outcomes over individual recognition.
    • Trust & Transparency: Build trust through transparent communication and consistently deliver strategic value to clients.
    • Sense of Humor & Short Memory: Maintain team morale and client confidence by staying calm and positive in challenging situations.
    • Spirit of Partnership: Create lasting value for clients by aligning their needs with strategic opportunities and fostering collaboration.
  • Account & Team Management

    • Time & Budget Tracking: Oversee campaign budgets and timelines, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and timely delivery of all PR activities.
    • Workflow Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks across PR, influencer, and social media workstreams to ensure smooth execution.
    • Employee Development: Mentor mid-level team members, providing constructive feedback and helping them build their skills through regular performance reviews and tailored development plans.
  • Client Communication & Strategic Counsel

    • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, handling all high-level communications, including emails and status calls. Navigate sensitive topics with professionalism and tact.
    • Written Materials & Deck Development: Supervise the creation of written materials, including press releases, media kits, and presentations, ensuring they align with client goals and agency standards. Provide feedback on key decks to elevate their quality.
    • Presentation Leadership: Lead key presentations for clients, clearly communicating strategic vision, campaign performance, and actionable recommendations.
  • Ongoing PR Strategy & Client Counsel

    • Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of ongoing PR strategies, ensuring they align with client business goals, brand positioning, and market trends.
    • Global/Local Coordination: Ensure local PR efforts align with global strategies and learnings, supporting key global storytelling initiatives.
    • Strategic Counsel: Provide ongoing guidance to clients and internal teams, proactively identifying opportunities to elevate the client’s brand presence in the media and cultural conversations.
  • Media Relations & PR Pitching

    • Always-On Media Relations: Manage the ongoing media relations program, including proactive pitching, relationship building, and securing coverage in tier 1 and 2 media outlets.
    • Trendspotting & Newsjacking: Identify cultural moments and timely opportunities for newsjacking, integrating these into the PR strategy to enhance brand visibility and relevance.
    • Media Materials Development: Oversee the creation of media materials (press releases, media alerts, etc.) and ensure their distribution to the right contacts.
    • Executive Visibility Plans: Develop plans for executive visibility, particularly around new brand innovations and product launches.
  • PR-Led Brand Acts & Newsjacking

    • Brand Activation: Identify trending moments that align with the brand’s messaging and execute PR-led brand acts such as bespoke mailers, pop-up events, and partnerships.
    • Campaign Execution: Manage the end-to-end execution of these initiatives, ensuring they resonate with target audiences and drive media buzz.
  • Award Submissions & Strategy

    • Award Strategy Development: Create and maintain a PR-driven award submission strategy, identifying key beauty and lifestyle awards for potential submissions.
    • Coordination: Handle product submissions, sample sends, and ensure everything is aligned with brand visibility goals, maximizing PR opportunities around award season.
  • Brand Ambassador & Spokesperson Management

    • Spokesperson Sourcing: Identify, source, and onboard new media-facing spokespeople or influencers as needed for ongoing PR campaigns and product launches.
    • Ongoing Management: Oversee media opportunities, interview requests, and spokesperson visibility efforts to ensure consistent, high-quality brand representation.
  • Event Production & Media/Influencer Engagements

    • Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of elevated PR events, including media mixers and influencer-focused activations, ensuring a memorable and on-brand experience.
    • Logistics Management: Handle all event logistics, from venue selection to talent integration, catering, and branding elements.
    • Mailer Campaigns: Oversee the creation, development, and fulfillment of premium and standard mailer campaigns to engage influencers and editors.
  • Reporting, Performance & Analytics

    • Performance Monitoring: Track media coverage and overall PR performance, providing detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to clients and internal teams.
    • Insights & Optimization: Measure key PR metrics (share of voice, sentiment analysis, media impressions) and provide actionable insights to optimize future campaigns.
    • Industry Awareness: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the PR landscape, monitoring media trends, competitor activity, and cultural shifts to inform future strategies.
