Freebird is rapidly growing, and we’re looking for a strategic and insightful Senior Customer Insights & Direct-Response Strategist. This critical role balances deep customer research and insights (50%) with the implementation of persuasive direct-response messaging and sales strategies (50%). You’ll uncover exactly what motivates our customers, then translate those insights into powerful messaging, landing pages, emails, ads, and funnel optimizations that significantly increase conversions and drive business growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Customer Insights & Research (50%):

    • Conduct in-depth voice-of-customer research including surveys, customer interviews, review analysis, and competitor assessments.
    • Identify the emotional and psychological drivers behind customer decisions, clearly pinpointing what motivates customers, what they value most, and what builds trust.
  • Direct-Response Execution & Messaging Strategy (50%):

    • Leverage customer insights to craft highly persuasive direct-response copy for landing pages, email campaigns, advertisements, and website content.
    • Strategically structure funnels and offers to align precisely with customer motivations, optimizing the customer journey to drive conversions.
    • Provide ongoing training and guidance to internal teams, ensuring consistent implementation of validated messaging strategies across all marketing channels.
  • Data-Driven Testing & Validation:

    • Regularly run structured messaging and copy tests (A/B testing) to validate ideas, refine strategies, and consistently improve conversion rates.
    • Clearly communicate insights and test results across the organization to influence strategic marketing decisions.

Core Competencies & Requirements:

  • Customer & Market Research:

    • Deep understanding of customers through voice-of-customer data, qualitative research (surveys, interviews), and competitor analyses.
    • Ability to clearly synthesize and communicate what matters most to specific audiences.
  • Direct-Response Copywriting:

    • Mastery in crafting clear, persuasive headlines, subheadlines, body copy, and CTAs.
    • Proven experience writing and structuring copy for high-converting DTC landing pages.
  • Consumer Psychology:

    • Strong grasp of psychological triggers including urgency, scarcity, social proof, authority, and framing.
    • Ability to leverage emotional and rational buying triggers to drive consumer action.
  • Offer Framing & Pricing Strategy:

    • Skilled at structuring compelling offers such as bundles, discounts, guarantees, and upsells.
    • Proficiency in positioning pricing effectively and communicating clear value.
  • Information Architecture (Strategic UX):

    • Expertise in structuring strategic landing page flows (e.g., problem → solution → social proof → offer → guarantee).
    • Ability to clearly storyboard landing pages and funnels for designers.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:

    • Experience using test data, conversion analytics, heatmaps, user session recordings, and post-purchase surveys.
    • Adept at leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to develop and validate hypotheses.
  • Creative & Strategic Ideation:

    • Capability to rapidly ideate, prioritize, and develop strategic messaging frameworks and concepts.
    • Strong instinct for identifying high-impact ideas based on experience and data.
  • Testing Methodology & Analysis:

    • Understanding of structuring A/B tests for clear, meaningful outcomes.
    • Ability to analyze test results effectively, identifying actionable learnings and clear next steps.
