We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Developer to join our team for a freelance engagement focused on redesigning and reengineering two major marketing sites. This role requires expertise in building front-end design systems and components for Wagtail, and a strong background with modern JavaScript libraries such as React and Vue. Youβll collaborate with design teams to perfect layouts, components, and assets to create a scalable, high-performance system for a multi-site Wagtail build.

What You’ll Do
- Build and refine front-end design systems and components within Wagtail.
- Work with templating languages like Handlebars.
- Collaborate with design teams to define and optimize layouts, components, and assets.
- Build large-scale sites using HTML, CSS, JS, and frameworks like React or Vue.
- Ensure strict performance and accessibility standards are met across all components.
- Create and manage CMS components, including blocks, snippets, and templates in Wagtail.
- Use AI tools to supplement efficiency, while maintaining core expertise in front-end development.
What You Bring
- Strong experience with Wagtail CMS, including creating and managing blocks, snippets, and templates.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Solid experience building CMS components, especially in Atomic (or similar) design systems.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict performance and accessibility requirements.
- Experience working closely with design teams to help define and implement component/modular design systems.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools for enhancing development efficiency.
Pay Range
- The expected pay range for this role is $50-$110 per hour on a 1099, but will depend on the level in which you are engaged
- Our company has three regional pay bands that it adheres to depending on your location, we reference them as US 1, US 2, and US 3 We have also established pay bands for areas outside the US
- US 3 is our base pay. Examples of cities in US 3 are Portland, Houston and Miami
- US 2 pay is 7.5% higher than US 3 to meet the market rates. Examples of cities in US 2 are Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle
- US 1 pay is 15% higher than US 3 to meet market rates. Examples of cities in US 1 are Brooklyn and San Francisco
