Doran Jones seeks a Senior Engineer Lead to lead 3 to 4 SDLC engineering teams and leverage your engineering and management experience to create a positive culture of solutions-focused Agile environment. In addition to managing the teams, you will be involved in the hands-on development and optimization of processes, solutions, and code.

When you join our team, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to work on solution development activities, from the initial requirement capture to software architecture and implementation. You will lead your teams through all stages of the SDLC lifecycle.

This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days a week in the Tampa office. It is a full-time, salaried position and is not open to C2C or other contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and guidance to multiple engineering teams (3-4) to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the teams.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, data engineering, and cloud computing.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of full-stack applications using Java, Angular/React, and Microservices architecture.
  • Ensure the efficient implementation of back-end systems using PostgreSQL and MongoDB for data storage and management.
  • Guide teams in developing scalable, high-performance, and secure applications on cloud platforms (AWS and GCP).
  • Lead the design and architecture of systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience for franchise-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to define and implement technical solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation and improve system performance.
  • Manage the deployment and integration of applications on AWS and GCP, leveraging cloud-native services for optimal performance.
  • Ensure that applications are built with a focus on security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline the development and deployment process.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation across multiple teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of full-stack solutions into business operations.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any risks or issues.

Required Experience

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development, with expertise in Java, Angular/React, Microservices, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Extensive experience in developing and deploying applications on AWS and GCP platforms.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing multiple engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies like Angular and React, and back-end technologies such as Java and Microservices.
  • Strong expertise in database management with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Solid understanding of cloud architectures, system design for high availability, and development of mission-critical applications.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with large-scale, distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Advanced certifications in AWS, GCP, or full-stack development.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
