About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong JavaScript/TypeScript expertise and experience integrating AI-powered tools to build modern, intelligent applications. You’ll work across the stack using Next.js and AWS Serverless technologies to create user-facing features and backend services that leverage large language models and vector databases.This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building end-to-end applications, experimenting with generative tech, and owning systems from prototype to production.
What You’ll Do
- Build scalable, full-stack applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Integrate with LLM APIs and implement embeddings using vector databases
- Develop AI-powered product features using RAG architecture, function calling, and conversation memory
- Design and optimize prompt engineering for reliability and safety
- Collaborate closely with product and design to prototype and ship impactful solutions quickly
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of software development experience, with deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with AWS Serverless development (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS)
- Experience integrating LLM/AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- Experience with Next.js
- Understanding of key AI concepts, including:
- Temperature tuning
- Embeddings and vector search
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Conversation memory management
- Function calling and chaining
- Prompt engineering techniques
- Experience building and deploying full-stack applications
- Nice to have:
- Prior experience working on AI/LLM-integrated products
- Familiarity with tools like Pinecone, Weaviate, or LangChain
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code

Sidecar Health adopts a market-based approach to compensation, where base pay varies depending on location and is further influenced by job-related skills and experience. The current expected salary range for this position is $155,000 - $175,000.
