Senior Showbiz Exclusives Journalist
Location: Los Angeles or New York (Hybrid or Remote flexibility)
Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday to Friday (with flexibility on shift hours)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly driven Senior Showbiz Exclusives Journalist with a proven track record of breaking agenda-setting stories. This is a key position within our showbiz news team, ideal for someone with deep industry contacts, a nose for exclusives, and the skills to consistently deliver high-impact journalism in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, investigate, and write original and exclusive entertainment news stories with national and international relevance.
- Leverage a strong network of industry contacts (PRs, agents, publicists, legal teams, insiders) to secure tips, leads, and scoops.
- Pitch and deliver compelling exclusives that set the news agenda across digital and print platforms.
- Turn around sharp, accurate, and clean copy under tight deadlines.
- Work closely with editors, photographers, and multimedia teams to enhance storytelling across platforms.
- Monitor breaking news, trends, and developments in Hollywood and celebrity culture, identifying opportunities for exclusive angles.
- Represent the brand professionally at events, red carpets, and interviews when necessary.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in entertainment journalism, with a focus on exclusives or investigative showbiz reporting.
- A demonstrable track record of breaking major exclusive stories in the showbusiness/celebrity space.
- Strong industry network in LA, New York, or both — with the ability to secure insider information.
- Excellent writing, reporting, and interviewing skills.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Editorial judgement and awareness of media law and ethical considerations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including early mornings or evenings to chase breaking stories.
- Based in Los Angeles or New York with a solid understanding of the entertainment industry landscape in either or both cities.
