About our team

We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America and come together once a month in-person for 3 days and over longer offsites twice a year.

Your role is part of the Revenue organization at poolside. We are a distributed team built on authenticity, transparency, and empathy. The Revenue org works closely with Engineering, Product, and C-Suite teams, especially during these early stages of poolside’s growth. Our impact extends beyond traditional revenue operations - we play a crucial role in steering the company’s direction by understanding and meeting the needs of both developers and enterprises.

About the role

In this role, you’ll work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to drive technical solutions and value at poolside. As a Solutions Engineer (SE), you’ll bridge the gap between customer needs and our technical capabilities, collaborating directly with Engineering and Product teams to shape our offering. As an early member of the Revenue organization, you’ll have a significant impact on our product direction and go-to-market strategy, helping define how poolside evolves to meet customer needs.

Your mission

To serve as the technical voice of poolside for both developers and enterprises. You’ll build lasting trust through delivering exceptional, tailored solutions that exceed customer and industry expectations. Through deep technical expertise and understanding of customer needs, you’ll help shape how organizations leverage poolside’s capabilities to solve their most pressing challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical conversations and solution architecture in customer engagements, establishing yourself as a trusted technical advisor

  • Bridge customer needs with product capabilities, translating complex requirements into actionable insights for our product team

  • Research and communicate market and industry trends to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions

  • Empower colleagues across the organization by sharing technical knowledge and best practices, elevating the overall technical expertise of the team

  • Design and execute sophisticated proof-of-value projects that demonstrate clear business impact for customers

  • Represent poolside as a thought leader at industry conferences and technical events

  • Engage with customers through on-site visits to ensure successful solution delivery and implementation (regular travel required)

Skills & experience

Must Have

  • Strong empathy and ability to understand diverse customer perspectives

  • Excellence in remote collaboration, with a commitment to transparency and accountability

  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles, particularly in technical pre-sales

  • Computer Science degree and/or substantial engineering experience

  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex projects with multiple stakeholders and changing variables

  • To be a French Native speaker

Should Have

  • Engineering or pre-sales background in AI/ML

  • Deep understanding of AI fundamentals, from neural networks to large language models

  • Hands-on experience with generative AI coding platforms, including direct usage and API integration

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the generative AI landscape, particularly in software engineering - including current capabilities, limitations, and emerging trends

  • Strong grasp of both developer needs and enterprise requirements for AI-powered software engineering solutions

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of soufflés - extra points for baking expertise

  • The persistence to write poolside with a lower case p, despite autocorrect’s best efforts

  • A fondness for company retreats, whether they’re mountainside or beachside
