Staff Product Manager - Cash & Payments

As Staff Product Manager, Cash & Payments at Shakepay, you’ll report directly to our CEO and shape the vision for how Canadians use Shakepay as their everyday money app. You’ll be responsible for building intuitive, reliable, and delightful cash & payment experiences - from fast Interac transfers and direct deposits, to seamless bill payments, peer-to-peer money sharing, and our Shakepay Card with bitcoin rewards.

This role is highly customer-focused and hands-on: you’ll deeply understand how Canadians want to move and spend money, and translate those insights into features that people love and trust. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, and marketing to craft cash products that keep Shakepay at the center of our customers’ financial lives. Your work will directly impact how Canadians choose Shakepay for deposits, spending, and everyday transactions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead Shakepay’s cash product strategy, with a focus on customer experience, usability, and adoption.
  • Own and expand core cash features: Interac e-Transfers, direct deposit, bill payments, Shakepay Card (BTC cashback), peer-to-peer transfers, and merchant integrations.
  • Partner with design and engineering to create seamless, intuitive, and habit-forming payments flows that Canadians love using daily.
  • Use customer research and data analysis to uncover pain points and opportunities for new consumer-facing features that differentiate Shakepay and delight our customers.
  • Collaborate with marketing to integrate cash product launches into lifecycle campaigns and growth loops.
  • Ensure reliability and trustworthiness of all payments experiences, working closely with operations, compliance, and treasury.
  • Build and manage relationships with external partners (banks, payment networks, etc.) to expand Shakepay’s payments capabilities and ensure seamless delivery for customers.
  • Regularly share vision, priorities, and progress with leadership and the broader Shakepay team.

Who we’re looking for

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping consumer-facing payments or financial products (P2P, cards, digital wallets, neobanks, bill pay).
  • Proven ability to create engaging consumer experiences that drive daily usage, habit formation, and loyalty.
  • Product craft: end-to-end ownership, hypothesis-driven roadmaps, user-centered discovery, rapid experimentation.
  • Data-driven: strong skills in SQL, funnel analysis, retention cohorts, and A/B testing.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling - you energize teams and executives with your vision.
  • Familiarity with payments rails (Interac, ACH/EFT, card issuing, ledger concepts) and ability to translate complex flows into simple experiences.
  • Comfortable balancing speed, cost, and compliance when shipping consumer features.
  • Technical fluency: can confidently discuss API integrations, payment processing flows, and mobile app tradeoffs.
  • Passion for bitcoin, financial services, and helping Canadians take control of their money.

  • Exposure to crypto funding, withdrawals, or recurring buys, and knowledge of how cash and crypto experiences intersect.
