Join Boulevard, a client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses, as a Staff Software Engineer, Lead. You will set the technical strategy and build the industry's most powerful and easy-to-use analytics platform for customers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in building reliable, scalable, and observable customer-facing reporting and analytics products that drive deep understanding and insights for customers
- Experience with transactional and analytical data technologies including Postgres, Snowflake, Data Replication, Data Modeling & Transformation (e.g. DBT)
- Experience with Streaming and Stream processing (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis) to power near real-time data use cases
- Experience measuring and building for data quality
- Experience shipping high-impact and complex initiatives
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go). Experience in Elixir is a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the 3-5 person squad (~40%) while contributing hands-on as a Staff SWE (~60%)
- Strategic planning and execution, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and objectives
- Own and lead the technical architecture and implementation of scalable and performant data products for our customers
- Establish and monitor system health metrics, implementing strategies to exceed targets
- Champion the maintenance of an observable, secure, and efficient codebase, addressing technical debt proactively to ensure the platform’s reliability and performance
- Participate in Incident Commander on-call rotation, where you will lead incident response by guiding the response towards resolution, communicating to stakeholders, and identifying post-incident improvements
