A Senior Associate is a recognized technical leader with deep engineering expertise and industry credibility. They drive high-impact consulting projects, support strategic business development, and contribute to the advancement of our vibration testing and assessment projects across the across the nuclear, coal, oil & gas, mining, and renewable energy sectors.
This position can be fully remote or onsite at one of Structural Integrity’s offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver consulting services in vibration testing and assessment—primarily in the nuclear sector, with crossover into coal, oil, gas, mining, and other renewable energy sectors.
- Lead and manage consulting projects—from scoping through execution—ensuring quality, budget, and client satisfaction.
- Maintain and grow client relationships through technical leadership and trusted advisory roles.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities across advanced reactor programs, piping systems, and turbine-generators, including support structures and active components such as pumps, valves, and other rotating machinery.
- Guide strategic planning, team operations, and cross-disciplinary integration in alignment with market drivers and business goals.
- Provide technical mentorship, team development, and succession planning support.
- Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards for quality, technical rigor, and regulatory expectations.
- Actively contribute to innovation in vibration diagnostics, assessments, and advanced simulation methods.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 15+ years solving vibration, fatigue, and structural integrity challenges—preferably in consulting or service roles supporting rotating equipment and passive structures/piping
- Demonstrated experience deploying field instrumentation, collecting high-quality data, and analyzing signals for vibration and structural assessments.
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
- Proficient in tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, and ANSYS APDL
- Deep knowledge in fault diagnostics of rotating machinery (pumps, compressors, fans, etc.)
- Demonstrated project leadership and consulting acumen
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and client relationships
- Eligible for Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization
- Willing to travel up to 40% for testing, assessments and client meetings
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Vibration Institute Certification (CAT IV preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Expertise in flow-induced vibration, transient dynamics, and fatigue fracture mechanics
- Experience with API 579-1 / ASME FFS-1 Level 3 assessments and DNV methods
- Knowledge of ASME Section III (Subsection NG, Appendix N)
- Exposure to CFD, acoustic pulsation, water hammer, or related FFS tools
- Technical contributions to advanced nuclear systems (e.g., SMRs, Gen IV, microreactors)
- Membership in ASME, API, VI, or other relevant technical societies
- Familiarity with advanced instrumentation techniques (e.g., high-temperature strain gauges, high-speed data capture, wireless sensors)
Pay Range:
The exact pay for this position will be commensurate with experience and location. For Denver, CO, the expected salary range is $152,960 to $229,440.
