Mid-level

Job description

We are seeking an experienced doula who is passionate about educating and guiding our members throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey. On the spectrum of doula care, we are looking for someone who is comfortable working within a clinical or medical setting—someone who enjoys being part of a healthcare team and, while not providing clinical care themselves, collaborates effectively and aligns with prenatal and postpartum evidence-based standards of care.

The Doula will support two programs:

1. Black Health Communities:

Doula to provide stand-alone prenatal and postpartum support, alongside benefits navigation and support from dedicated care coordinators.

2. Care and Case Management:

Doula will collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team and contribute to cohesive care plans by providing longitudinal support and education during pregnancy and through postpartum.

The support and education provided is intended to improve outcomes for all members. This role involves ongoing strategic input and innovation to regularly evaluate how we best serve our members and impact outcomes. Both programs are committed to raising the standard of healthcare for all pregnant people.

Schedule: M-F 9a-6p PST

  • Works within the established structured doula workflow to deliver culturally-representative prenatal and postpartum support and education via phone and messaging
  • Support members and their chosen model of prenatal care and delivery plan (ex: OBGYN, CNM, Group Prenatal Care/Centering, Hospital delivery, Birth Center delivery, etc.)

  • Demonstrates a willingness to adapt traditional doula support models for a virtual-only format to reach pregnant patients lacking alternative access to doula care.
  • Experience solving problems for, and advocating on behalf of, members of the Black community
  • Passionate about advocating for the Black community.
  • Comfortable with technology, as well as strong competence and ability to use multiple computer/medical record systems.
  • Experience working remotely.

  • Strictly follow security and HIPAA regulations to protect our patients’ medical information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter who likes to take ownership of your work and you proactively go the extra mile for others.
