Job Title: Head of Platforms & Data
Location: Midlands (Droitwich)
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum + £4,800 Car Allowance + discretionary annual bonus
Job Summary:
The Head of Platforms & Data is responsible for designing, developing and operating the platform ecosystem that enables Airband’s Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) business to scale. This includes the business and operational support systems (BSS/OSS), the API and integration layer and data architecture that supports customer activation, service assurance, billing, field operations and wholesale enablement. The role ensures all platforms are scalable, modular and interoperable, enabling seamless workflows between commercial systems, network systems and operational tools
Responsibilities
Platforms Architecture & Evolution
• Own the end-to-end architecture for BSS and OSS platforms.
• Ensure platforms are API-first, modular and scalable, avoiding vendor lock-in.
• Maintain a platforms roadmap aligned with network growth, service models and business strategy.
API & Systems Integration
• Own the API strategy and integration layer connecting BSS, OSS, Network Monitoring, Customer/Wholesale portals and Data platforms.
• Define API standards, governance, security and lifecycle control.
• Drive workflow automation to reduce manual provisioning and service handling.
Data Strategy & Data Platform
• Define the enterprise data model and data governance framework.
• Lead development and scaling of the data platform (warehouse / lake).
• Ensure high-quality data supports customer insight, service assurance, capacity analytics and commercial reporting.
BSS/OSS Operational Design
• Define and refine core business and service workflows (activation, inventory sync, provisioning, incident/change processes, wholesale enablement).
• Ensure tooling supports reliable, repeatable and automated operations.
Delivery & Vendor Management
• Manage platform vendors, integrators and outsourced delivery partners.
• Balance build vs buy to optimise cost and delivery speed.
• Ensure platform enhancements are delivered predictably, tested and documented.
Leadership & Governance
• Lead a multi-disciplinary platforms and data team.
• Establish platforms governance, architecture review boards and structured change control.
• Communicate platform roadmap and progress to executive stakeholders.
Key Success Measures
• Stability, extensibility and reduction in manual handoffs.
• Reduction in time from order to service activation.
• Accuracy and usability of operational and commercial data.
• Increased automation across Service Operations and Networks.
• Delivery of platform capabilities aligned to scaling roadmap.

• Excellent planning and organisational skills, resilient with the ability to successfully manage conflicting priorities.
• Self-starter, able to take the lead and brings projects and tasks to completion
• An eye for detail, focused on implementing robust controls and processes
