Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious MBA Intern to join our Indirect Procurement team. This is a unique, high-impact role designed for a future leader with a proven track record of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. As a strategic procurement intern you will assume responsibility for a portfolio of either Professional Services or Freight spend, driving value and identifying strategic opportunities in a fast-paced environment. As a key component of our talent development strategy, this internship is an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to deliver significant business results.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Strategic Category Management: Take ownership of one or more categories such as Professional Services, Freight or other categories, engaging with key business stakeholders to understand their needs and analyze current spend patterns.
  • High-Impact Project Leadership: Identify, scope, and lead 1-2 strategic projects focused on optimizing spend, generating measurable cost savings, or improving efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and support on ad hoc business requests towards Procurement.
  • Sourcing & Supplier Management: Lead RFX/tenders, negotiate contracts, and provide hands-on support for strategic projects as well as urgent supplier-related issues and ad-hoc requests.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes, leveraging data and strategic insights to enhance the team’s capabilities.
  • Leadership Development: Actively participate in team meetings and initiatives, demonstrating a proactive, positive attitude and a hunger to grow in the organisation.

The preferred start date is November 3rd, 2025. The ideal candidate is available 4-5 days a week for 5-6 months. The location of the position is our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest. The internship can be done remotely for up to 3 days per week.

Qualifications

What kind of candidate are we looking for?

  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in a Dutch university
  • Ability to navigate in an uncertain and ambiguous environment and work around data issues
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to extract data from stakeholders and systems, turn it into actionable insights, scope out projects and drive them with speed
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude, a high degree of proactiveness, and the ambition to succeed in a demanding role
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems like Ariba or SAP is a plus
