  • Job Title: Scrum Master / Program Lead
  • Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Hybrid model)
  • Job Summary:
  • We are looking for a seasoned Scrum Master / Program Leader to drive the successful delivery of a high-impact Data Engineering and Business Intelligence (BI) initiative. The ideal candidate is an expert in Agile practices, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced, data-centric environments. As a servant leader, you will champion Agile values, optimize team performance, and ensure the on-time delivery of scalable, high-quality data solutions that empower business decision-making.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Agile Leadership & Team Facilitation:
  • Lead 1–2 cross-functional Agile teams delivering advanced data engineering and BI solutions.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Actively identify, resolve, and escalate impediments to maintain team momentum.
  • Coach and mentor team members in Agile/Scrum principles to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Use Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.) to forecast progress, inform planning, and drive accountability.
  • Program & Delivery Management:
  • Partner with Product Owners, Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Business Stakeholders to define and prioritize program goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Align execution with strategic business objectives, data architecture, and technical capabilities.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and milestone tracking.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery in compliance with enterprise data governance and security standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
  • Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating vision into execution.
  • Provide clear, concise updates to leadership on progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, team environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Agile project management, including leading Scrum teams in data or analytics-focused programs.
  • Deep understanding of modern data ecosystems, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, SQL).
  • Exceptional facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical mindset with an eye for detail and continuous improvement.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or equivalent); additional certifications in Agile/SAFe are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Agile project tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working in regulated environments or handling sensitive data/privacy requirements.
  • Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) preferred.
