Job Summary
As a Senior Node.js Backend Engineer (18188), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable serverless backend systems using Node.js and AWS services.
- Architect and maintain microservices and APIs, ensuring reliability, performance, and seamless integration across cloud-based components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver backend features, improve CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high-quality code through reviews and continuous optimization.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience as a Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
- Advanced proficiency with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS, S3, SQS/SNS, RDS, and IAM.
- Deep understanding of serverless architecture, event-driven design, and microservices environments.
- Strong command of SQL and NoSQL databases and hands-on experience with version control tools such as GitHub or GitLab.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation practices for efficient deployments.
- Proficiency with infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and CloudFormation.
- Experience designing and optimizing ETL and ELT processes using AWS Glue with Python or PySpark.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue Crawlers, Data Catalog, schema inference, and partitioning strategies for efficient querying.
- Ability to build and manage cloud data infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with strong collaboration and leadership capabilities.
- Experience configuring serverless identity management using AWS Cognito.
