We founded Checkly in 2018 as an Application Reliability Platform for engineers to test, monitor, and observe their applications. We unify testing, monitoring, and observability with a workflow designed for modern engineering, SRE, and DevOps teams. We help detect and resolve issues from staging to production, alert teams of outages, update status pages in real-time, and reduce Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR) with full-stack traces. We use a Monitoring as Code (MaC) approach to ensure the uptime and performance of apps, APIs, and services.

Our offerings include Uptime Monitoring for URLs, TCP ports, DNS, and database backups from multiple global locations. Synthetic Monitoring, powered by Playwright, simulates real user interactions to find functional errors or performance issues before they affect users. API Checks monitor HTTP requests with assertions, supporting multi-step flows and customizable settings like SSL checks and retry strategies. TCP Checks monitor TCP-based services such as SSH and SMTP. We provide Smart Alerting through channels like Slack, PagerDuty, and email, along with automated Status Pages for communicating with customers. For issue resolution, our Traces integrate with OpenTelemetry to follow failures through the entire stack, and Rocky AI assists with Root Cause Analysis by providing detailed insights. We have raised $32M.
