Director, Product

Job description

Company Overview:

At Fluency, we come together under two shared passions that drive our culture: the scaling of digital ad operations, and fostering a workplace environment rooted in open communication, inclusivity, and a growth-oriented mindset. These passions not only set us apart in the industry, but also fuel our collective drive to reshape the industry and reinvent ourselves along the way. We’re not just revolutionizing the digital advertising horizon, we’re shaping an organization where every member feels a sense of pride and is inspired to do their best work.

Product Overview:

The Fluency platform brings first-of-its-kind Robotic Process Automation for Advertising together with AI into a single hub that enables you to adapt to the rapid pace of industry change while delivering comprehensive digital ad programs at a virtually limitless scale. Launch, manage, and optimize custom, local digital advertising campaigns across all major channels with groundbreaking efficiency and control. Your advertising strategies shouldn’t be limited by technical constraints, resource limitations, and tedious, time-consuming tasks.

Job Summary:

The Director of Product is a natural leader and strategic collaborator with deep expertise in technical product management and strong business acumen. This role requires both visionary thinking and operational execution. As a people leader, you’ll guide the growth, structure, and success of the Product team while aligning cross-functional partners around shared outcomes, metrics, and priorities.

You’ll work closely with the executive team to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, drive innovation, and ensure our product strategy positions Fluency for long-term success. As a manager of Product Managers, you will provide mentorship, ensure team alignment, and help shape a high-performing, scalable product organization.

Your Role:

  • Determine the appropriate investment mix across product stability, scalability, new feature development, and future-proofing Fluency’s competitive positioning
  • Clearly articulate Fluency’s product strategy and competitive differentiators to internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct market research and identify revenue growth opportunities
  • Contribute to revenue modeling and pricing strategies for product offerings
  • Coach and develop Product Managers through regular performance management, feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Assess team workload and capacity, ensuring resources are aligned with business priorities
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, and quarterly performance evaluation processes for your team
  • Oversee effective adoption of new products and features through coordinated marketing materials and rollout plans
  • Collaborate with business development, product engineering, marketing, and channel partners to understand and anticipate evolving client needs
  • Act as an internal leader and strategic partner in solving complex business problems related to platforms, systems, and infrastructure
  • Consult on large-scale cross-functional technical projects (e.g., major migrations, platform or infrastructure changes, architectural optimizations)
  • Identify blockers or risks that may delay launches or impede product success, and proactively resolve them
  • Work closely with technical leaders to ensure product development aligns with overall strategy and business goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the product development organization, emphasizing quality, reliability, and scalability
  • Contribute to internal training and education initiatives to ensure the team stays aligned with digital marketing trends and strategies

What We Look For:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with a strong focus on platforms and systems
  • 5+ years of experience in digital advertising, e-commerce, or a related industry
  • Proven ability to lead and scale high-performing product teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and business analysis skills; MBA preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and evaluate high-impact ideas in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing large, complex product portfolios or cross-functional projects
  • Deep understanding of data-driven product development and current development methodologies
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for onsite team meetings and industry events
