This position can be hybrid in our American Fork, UT office 2-3 days per week or remote in the United States.
Job Summary
As a Sr Software Engineer in Test (SET), you play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products. Combining strong technical skills with a deep understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices, you lead the design and implementation of comprehensive testing strategies. Your focus extends beyond traditional testing approaches, encompassing automation, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines to enable efficient and effective software delivery.
What You Will Do
- Record defects found and provide sufficient information for the resolution of those defects
- Document in the test management software: test cases, test suites, and test plans designed for functional and regression testing of the product
- Establish a high level of code quality by writing unit tests, integration tests, automation tests, participating in code reviews, executing test cases at the acceptance testing level as part of the functional testing or regression testing of the product
- Assist user documentation and technical support by assembling and providing concise and accurate information to software functionality
- Implement code that demonstrates a good understanding of design patterns, test automation, continuous integration/deployment, versioning, networking, database management systems, database design, database access, memory management, modeling, security, refactoring, and concurrency
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement on test automation frameworks
- Attend all meetings necessary for the seamless delivery of the product as part of the SDLC
Travel/Physical Demands
- Travel typically less than 10%
- Office environment with no special physical demands required
Qualifications
Must Haves
- 5+ years of test automation and/or software development experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Java, Postman, Playwright, Rest Assured, Cypress
- Ability to implement test automation derived from technical specifications and code analysis
- Ability to derive and design tests from general product requirements
- Knowledge of test cases, test plans, test suites and application design patterns
- Knowledge of data storage formats, tools, and languages
- Ability to implement code derived from technical specifications
- Ability to problem-solve in a technical space
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Act as a resource for colleagues
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with Selenium, JavaScript and Typescript
- Experience with performance and load testing
The posted range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
