Role Overview

We are looking for a Merchant Onboarding Specialist based in the Philippines for a 1 year contract position. The role will focus on supporting merchants in their onboarding journey—ensuring they activate successfully, understand our products, and are able to accept payments across HitPay’s supported channels.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and confident in guiding merchants through product and payment activation. This role is essential in ensuring merchants in HitPay’s key markets get the support and knowledge they need to start transacting quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for newly onboarded merchants in the Philippines.

  • Provide product knowledge and guidance, ensuring merchants understand how to activate and use HitPay’s solutions (online and in-person).

  • Support merchants in payment method activation (e.g., PayNow, QRPH, DuitNow, cards, wallets, BNPL, etc.), ensuring smooth setup and testing.

  • Guide merchants on best practices for using HitPay tools (dashboard, APIs, POS, online store, etc.) to maximize their usage and benefits.

  • Troubleshoot onboarding issues and escalate technical or compliance-related matters to internal teams when necessary.

  • Coordinate with Sales, Compliance, and Product teams to ensure merchants have a seamless experience from signup to first transaction.

  • Track and report onboarding progress, merchant activation timelines, and feedback to improve processes.

  • Contribute to knowledge base and FAQs to improve self-service onboarding.

Requirements

  • Based in the Philippines, either Remote or Hybrid

  • 1–3 years of experience in customer support, merchant onboarding, payments, fintech, or e-commerce is strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken English; Tagalog a plus).

  • Ability to explain technical processes simply and clearly to non-technical users.

  • Familiarity with payment methods and e-commerce tools is an advantage.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Comfortable in a contract role with focus on high-volume merchant support in HitPay’s active markets.
