Senior Platform Engineer

Job description

ID5 enables addressable and measurable advertising to support the growth of the digital economy and provide free and safe access to content and services. Technical changes, signal loss, and increasingly more stringent data protection regulations require new, advanced technologies that enable audience addressability while respecting people’s privacy preferences.

ID5 has risen to this challenge and developed solutions that support publishers’ and marketers’ need for better addressability. Its laser focus on Identity sets it apart from competitive solutions and enables the company to offer the most advanced and sophisticated identity services to over 100,000 media properties, and hundreds of technology platforms and advertisers, making it the most adopted identity solution in the market.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Platform Engineer at ID5, you will play a key role in building and evolving the core platform that underpins our identity services. You will work across cloud and bare-metal environments to ensure our systems are stable, reliable, scalable, and observable. Partnering closely with product and data teams, you will help define and implement best practices, design fault-tolerant infrastructure, and develop automation and tooling that empower teams across the business. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in agile, data-centric environments and wants to make a direct impact on the future of digital advertising addressability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve ID5’s platform, ensuring stability, reliability, scalability, and observability across services.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute platform expertise to architectural decisions.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to support critical production systems.
  • Help define and champion platform engineering best practices, principles, and standards.
  • Build and improve platform observability with a focus on actionable, predictive metrics.
  • Design and deliver fault-tolerant, highly scalable, and highly available systems.
  • Develop self-service tooling and automation to empower product and data teams.
  • Perform maintenance and lifecycle management of applications and infrastructure, including defining processes for upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Several years of experience building and operating platforms that support SaaS, DaaS, or ML workloads in large-scale production environments.
  • Deep understanding of platform engineering and DevOps principles, with practical experience supporting data-centric workloads.
  • Experienced working across both bare-metal and Cloud environments.
  • Skilled in designing and operating distributed data platforms such as Spark, Kafka, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with modern data practices such as data lakes, data warehousing, and large-scale batch/streaming pipelines.
  • Comfortable writing automation and platform tooling (Python, Bash, Go, etc.), including scripts and services to support data engineering workflows.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.).
  • Comfortable working in a small, highly agile, and fully remote team.
