As we continue to evolve, we’re seeking an Accounting Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment to join our team and contribute to the achievement of high standards in our accounting operations. The Accounting Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our accounting operations. This role is designed to support both the Accounting Manager and the Internal Controls Manager in improving accounting functions, enhancing reporting capabilities, and ensuring stringent governance of statutory and tax compliance across the organization.

The ideal candidate will bring Big 4 experience, a solid understanding of tax regulations (mainly Argentina but a minimum understanding of global tax is required), and be well-versed in IFRS technical requirements. Knowledge of tax regulations in countries other than Argentina is a valued plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations & Reporting Excellence:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local and IFRS standards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to implement improvements in accounting systems, procedures, work papers and controls.
  • Executing and overseeing the end-to-end financial close process, including coordination, review, consolidation, compliance, and analysis to deliver accurate reporting and decision support for management.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Assist in monitoring and improving financial controls to prevent errors, fraud, and inefficiencies.
  • Participate in audits, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of supporting documents and resolving audit queries.

Local & Global Tax Compliance:

  • Provide support in the preparation and review of tax filings, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and other statutory requirements.
  • Partner with external tax advisors and internal teams to ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax changes and assist with the implementation of related adjustments.

Finance Projects & Process Optimization:

  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at streamlining accounting processes, identifying areas for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with the Treasury team to ensure smoother cash management and reconciliation
  • Provide support in ad-hoc financial reporting and analyses to senior management, as required.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting

Experience: Proven experience in accounting, with significant collaboration in a Big 4 accounting firm or similar environment. Experience in a technology company is a plus.

Skills/expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles (local and international), financial reporting, and statutory/tax compliance.
  • Proficiency and experience using any ERP is required (Netsuite desirable)
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience with financial audits

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (B2 English level is the minimum acceptable).
