Summary:

At Kepler, we know our people are our most valuable asset — and we’re growing fast!  We are looking for a Junior Accountant to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting critical functions within Kepler’s global Finance team. You’ll handle day-to-day accounting responsibilities including reconciliations, journal entries, and audit prep, with a particular focus on U.S. and North American financial operations (90%+ USD exposure). This is a highly visible and time-sensitive role, requiring strong attention to detail, comfort with accounting systems like Sage Intacct, and a solid understanding of GAAP (accrual vs. cash basis). The position will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform bank reconciliations across 13+ global accounts, including coordination with banking partners (e.g., Chase) and accurate recording in Sage Intacct
  • Manage and reconcile prepaid expenses and track fixed assets
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Conduct balance sheet analysis for select accounts as part of the month-end close process
  • Provide audit support, including documentation, schedules, and analysis as needed
  • Assist with accounts payable processes, including statement of accounts and vendor communication
  • Review and analyze “pay when paid” conditions to ensure contractual alignment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial accuracy and process improvements
  • Become an expert in Sage Intacct and contribute to continuous process optimization

Desired Skills and Experience:

  •  2+ years of relevant experience required.
  •  Bachelor’s degree required. All majors accepted, preferably with a major or minor in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, economics, engineering, statistics, physics, etc.).
  • Bookkeeping, accounts payable, & vendor bill processing
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices as well as general office practices and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills, and comfort with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, data analysis and internet technologies with proven ability to think creatively about challenging analytic problems.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, with excellent bilingual communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage complex workload and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills and ability to contribute to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and work as part of a team.
