Job Description
As a experienced Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll make a real difference in the lives of people living with disability by helping them and those around them. You will focus on enhancing quality of life, reducing behaviours of concern and promoting the rights of people with disability.
You will work as part of a team including practitioners, a team leader and clinical advisors, to support people with evidence-based practice along with developing your own knowledge, skills and experience.
You live in or very close to the suburbs of Blacktown or Penrith or Liverpool or Campbelltown, or in the Canterbury-Bankstown area of Sydney.
As an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner you will:
- Support our clients (NDIS participants), along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Famework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Ensure individual plans reflect our clients’ goals, passions and strengths
- Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support our clients - family, carers, friends, etc

- you will receive weekly 1:1 clinical supervision from an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner, plus opportunities to join group-based supervisions from the very beginning

Build Your Career:
- you will prepare an individualised Compulsory Professional Development (CPD) plan and Supervision Agreement with your supervisor, to plan out your journey from Core or Proficient suitability to the next level and beyond
- you will be supported by your clinical advisor and clinical leadership team to advance in practice specialisation, leadership, case management or any aspect of your work you see as your focus area
- you will be welcome to apply for one of the regular internal leadership positions, short-term secondments or adjunct roles that are available within our team

About You
- Current suitability (i.e. registration) with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Substantial experience in the provision of Positive Behaviour Support as recognised by the The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
- Demonstration of alignment to the company’s vision to deliver evidence-based, person-centred and outcome-focused supports which enable participants and their significant others to live their best lives
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication (written and verbal), influencing, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to being a team player
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Flawless writing skills
- Current drivers licence and own reliable vehicle

- Degree level qualifications of relevance to providing support to people with behaviours of concern are highly preferred
