Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced operations manager to join our Investment Operations team who is excited to work at a growing and innovative business. You would join our brilliant management group in leading and overseeing our investment processes, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows, and implementing best practices. This role involves managing a team, optimising processes, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to strive for operational excellence that underpins a seamless customer experience.

What you’ll do

  • You will work directly with Platform, Compliance and Customer Operations and other key teams to oversee our investment operations. Key elements of the role will be:

  • Managing and mentoring the team, providing guidance, support, and performance management.

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to operational workflows, including trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, and other key processes, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Feeding into the operational build of and impact of new products and functionalities.

  • Aiding in incident management where issues arise; escalating in line with policy and managing key stakeholders.

  • Reviewing and approving payment instructions and reconciliations.

  • Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and industry best practices, implementing and maintaining robust control frameworks. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with the CASS rules and HMRC regulation.

  • Interacting with key providers, including our brokers and banks.

  • Leading and participating in operational change projects, system upgrades, and other initiatives aimed at enhancing the investment operations function.

  • Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness of investment operations and identify areas for improvement.

Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years experience at a UK regulated financial institution.
  • Relevant experience in areas such as dealing, settlement, corporate action management.
  • Experience managing others.
  • Exposure to key regulations, such as the FCA CASS rules.
  • Ideally, a relevant qualification such as a CISI certificate.
  • Confident in communicating and presenting to senior management.

Working Policy:

We have a hybrid policy that includes 2 days from our London office and 3 from home. If the role states it is either hybrid or remote candidates must be based within the UK.
