Job Description

The Team

Our Core Mobile Apps Platform team is responsible for the core architecture, infrastructure, operational practices and design capabilities that enable our Candidate Domain teams to deliver high quality mobile experiences for our SEEK, Jobsdb, and Jobstreet mobile apps.

Our ambition is to deliver world class apps that delight our candidates by enabling teams to build consistent, beautiful, reliable, and secure apps at scale. We focus on tactical and strategic initiatives that help maintain our platform health, introduce new platform capabilities, and elevate the user experience.

We are a cross-functional distributed agile team of engineers and product managers spread across Australia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. We welcome diverse thinking and are passionate about customer satisfaction, high quality engineering, and continuous improvement.

About the role

We’re seeking for a versatile Lead Engineer for our Core iOS platform team - an entry-level people management role for a senior engineer passionate about mobile development.

You’ll provide in-team leadership focused on people management, team health, and technical culture while driving software delivery and engineering quality. Working with other technical leaders, you’ll architect solutions, evolve team practices, mentor engineers, and support career development through line management.

Key aspects of the role include driving the platform roadmap, partnering with product teams and mobile technical leaders to deliver on SEEK’s mobile ambition and technical strategy across APAC markets. We’re looking for someone with solid iOS ecosystem knowledge, strong customer focus, care for people, and a delivery mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Drive platform roadmap strategies aligned with SEEK’s mobile ambition, partnering with product teams to define technical direction and deliver on mobile objectives across APAC markets
  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable iOS software solutions that meet customer needs and support the platform’s long-term scalability and performance goals
  •  Establish technical practices and engineering quality standards, evolving team delivery processes and ensuring code quality across the iOS platform
  • Develop mentoring programs to grow engineer capabilities, providing career development support and fostering technical skill advancement within the team
  • Lead team initiatives for culture and cohesion, focusing on team health, collaboration, and creating an environment where engineers can thrive
  • Architect solutions with other technical leaders, collaborating on system design and technical decision-making that spans multiple teams and platforms
  • Provide line management and people leadership while building strong partnerships with product teams to ensure technical and business alignment across APAC markets

Qualifications

Skills and experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience developing applications using Swift, SwiftUI, XCTest, XCUITest, and Grand Central Dispatch (GCD), including expertise in multi-variant and multi-module application architectures.
  • Experienced in developing highly scalable, available, performant, and secure native iOS Apps
  • Working in a cross functional software engineering team with experience in supervising/ coaching/mentoring Engineers
  • Support a culture that that promotes continuous improvement in a team environment.
  • Familiar with GraphQL and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of API design and data integration best practices.
  • Skilled in leveraging public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) for both development and operational workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Experienced in ensuring platform health and reliability through proactive monitoring against technical performance metrics and service-level objectives.
  • Strong ability to influence, motivate, and negotiate across teams and with senior stakeholders, fostering alignment and driving strategic outcomes.
