Job description
As a Technical Motion Designer, you’ll operate at the intersection of design, technology, and creative automation. Your primary focus is to take creative assets from global brands and transform them into scalable, dynamic templates that can be rolled out efficiently across markets, formats, and languages.
This role combines motion design expertise with technical implementation and process ownership. You should be skilled in After Effects, understand automation logic and data-driven animation, and be comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional, hybrid corporate environment.
The emphasis of this role is on technical execution and workflow scalability rather than creative storytelling. You’ll design structured, automation-ready motion systems, optimize performance, anticipate edge cases, and document solutions to ensure consistency and reliability across high-volume production.
What you would do
- Template Development: Build dynamic After Effects projects and automation-ready creative templates.
- Technical Problem Solving: Use expressions, ExtendScript, and data-driven setups (e.g., CSV/JSON) to create scalable and maintainable templates.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Account Managers, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver local client needs with global consistency.
- Quality Control: Test thoroughly, debug render issues, and document key performance metrics (render times, asset sizes, dynamic logic).
- Asset Preparation: Adapt and optimize creative files from After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma for automation workflows.
- Knowledge Sharing: Create or contribute to documentation and internal resources to support future local hires.
- Client Support: Explain workflows, requirements, and logic to clients and internal teams clearly and confidently.
- Continuous Learning: Stay curious, explore new automation methods, and share insights with the wider team.
Required Skills:
- Advanced Adobe After Effects knowledge — including expressions, parenting, data-driven setups, and render optimization.
- Understanding of data-driven animation workflows (CSV/JSON).
- Strong organizational and documentation habits; comfortable maintaining shared standards.
- Excellent English communication skills (written, verbal, and visual).
- Ability to work independently, structure priorities, and uphold high-quality standards with minimal supervision.
- Awareness of corporate processes and hybrid collaboration, especially across departments and time zones.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with basic web development (HTML, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of ExtendScript or automation scripting for After Effects.
- Figma experience for design adaptation.
- Familiarity with creative automation tools or templating platforms.
- Understanding of digital media production, rendering, and optimization principles.
Soft Skills That Matter:
- Ownership and accountability - you take initiative and deliver what you promise.
- Collaboration and communication - you bridge creative and technical teams effectively.
- Process-minded - you value structure and understand the impact of standardization.
- Adaptability - you can balance global processes with local realities.
- Curiosity and growth mindset - you’re eager to learn and help shape the new Americas hub.
