Waymo’s Systems Engineering team works together to blend software and hardware systems in groundbreaking new ways. We set the high performance standards that ensure our vehicles run smoothly and keep passengers safe, then design and perform the tests that validate that performance. We’re looking for talented teammates who’ll help us maintain strong teamwork and are passionate about driving results.
You will:
- Research and develop understanding of radar sensor technology used for autonomous driving
- Review radar performance requirements, develop validation methods and write test-procedure documents
- Analyze test data using statistical tools, identify characteristics & automation opportunities
- Develop functions for test-data extraction and analysis automation
- Document results for communication across the organization
You have:
- Currently pursuing a Masters/PhD in Physics, Engineering, or technical related field
- Familiarity with sensing, signal processing, electromagnetic systems, or robotics
- Ability to interpret datasets and draw quantitative conclusions
- Data management, analysis and test scripting/automation experience
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
We prefer:
- Experience with data analysis and workflow orchestration tools such as Plx / SQL.
- Experience with Python and Python libraries
- Experience with sensors and sensor data interpretation
