Keystone Fireworks is a premium private label fireworks retailer with 11 locations across Pennsylvania. We differentiate ourselves through a clean, family-friendly in-store experience and high-quality branded products. As a highly seasonal business (80% of sales occur in the week leading up to July 4th), we’re backed by private equity and focused on strategic growth.

Location: Remote

Duration: ~4 week project(initially)

Rate: $60-65/hr

Job Description

We’re ready to build our first comprehensive digital and social media strategy but need expert guidance to chart the right course. With a strong foundation in traditional marketing (billboards, direct mail, radio) and excellent first-party customer data, we’re positioned to expand our digital presence—but we need a strategist to show us how.

What You’ll Do

  • Audit our current digital presence and analyze the competitive landscape
  • Develop a comprehensive digital and social media strategy that accounts for platform advertising restrictions (Meta/Google prohibit promotional fireworks ads)
  • Identify optimal channel mix across Instagram, TikTok, SEO, and emerging platforms
  • Create a content strategy that drives engagement and store traffic while navigating regulatory constraints
  • Build a measurable roadmap with KPIs tied to in-store sales and website engagement
  • Recommend staffing and execution requirements for ongoing implementation
  • Develop a data-driven business case with ROI projections for private equity stakeholders
  • Provide actionable next steps for Q1-Q2 2025 leading into peak season

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of digital marketing strategy experience, preferably with retail or seasonal brands
  • Deep expertise in digital (SEO/Google) and social media strategy (Instagram, TikTok) and organic content approaches
  • Experience working with regulated industries or navigating advertising restrictions
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to build ROI models and business cases
  • Understanding of SEO and content marketing strategies
  • Proven track record developing strategies that drive measurable business results
  • Ability to work independently and translate strategy into actionable execution plans
  • Comfort presenting to senior leadership and private equity stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hyper-seasonal businesses
  • Background in brick-and-mortar retail marketing
  • Knowledge of geotargeted marketing campaigns
  • Familiarity with QR code marketing and in-store to digital experiences
