About Tax Expert team:
We’re looking for motivated, upbeat, and experienced tax preparers to help guide Wealthsimple clients through their tax filing journey with Wealthsimple Tax. The Tax Expert team consists of tax professionals who consistently deliver friendly, accurate, and honest tax guidance and support to clients who are using Wealthsimple Tax to file their own tax returns.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Provide personalized 1-1 tax guidance to Wealthsimple clients as they prepare and submit personal tax returns through Wealthsimple Tax. This includes:
- 1) Reviewing returns prior to NETFILE submission
- 2) Researching complex tax scenarios to maximize the client’s tax return
- 3) Answering Tax questions to ensure accurate information is provided by the client
- Engage in a 1-1 service using Google Meet, with follow-up email support as well
- Share/Learn tax knowledge with your team of tax professionals
- Assist with Audit Protection tickets as needed
What you’ll bring:
- A deep understanding of the ins and outs of Canadian taxes. You know how to file tax returns, what goes into preparing tax returns, and more importantly, know how to explain these concepts simply
- A proven ability to research tax rules and regulations.You provide accurate advice in order to maximize a client’s tax return
- You have used collaboration software (Google Meet, Zoom, etc) and managed a daily schedule of appointments. More specifically, you have the ability and knowledge to navigate multiple online applications simultaneously to deliver solutions for clients
- Communication with clear and concise details. Your written and verbal communication is focused on ensuring efficient, accurate, and precise guidance
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- 3+ years of professional tax preparation experience working on complex Canadian T1 tax returns.
- In depth experience preparing and reviewing more complicated tax returns that include self-employment income, rental income, foreign investments, cryptocurrency, and foreign income
- Adept at using professional tax preparation software in prior roles
- Prior experience using Wealthsimple Tax will be a definite asset
