Position Summary:

We’re looking for a strategic, entrepreneurial AI Product Manager to drive Pareto’s AI vision forward. You’ll be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering AI-powered capabilities—starting in Underwriting and then expanding to other parts of the business. This role will serve as a key connector across data, engineering, and operations, ensuring our AI roadmap is both technically sound and business-relevant.

From driving smarter risk selection to uncovering process automation opportunities to enhancing customer experience, you’ll take ideas from “this might be possible” to “this is driving real impact.”

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shape the AI Strategy in Underwriting

• Define and validate AI use cases that improve group risk selection and pricing, and empower Underwriters to make smarter decisions.
• Evaluate feasibility, build vs. buy tradeoffs, and prioritize opportunities based on where we can get the most value.
• Work with actuarial, underwriting, and data teams to scope opportunities from end to end, and then with all teams necessary to roll projects out.

2. Build and Lead the Execution Engine

• Stand up and lead a lean AI product team (internal or vendor-based) to deliver against your roadmap.
• Own the backlog, sprint planning, and delivery timelines for AI projects.
• Implement controls, evaluation methods and policies to ensure outputs meet compliance, accuracy, and business quality standards.

3. Scale AI Literacy and Use Cases Across the Organization

• Act as the company’s internal AI evangelist and subject matter expert.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business - including Product, Operations, and Cost Containment to identify and develop new AI opportunities—including automation, document ingestion, and intelligent workflows.
• Bring a practical mindset to innovation—making AI accessible and accountable to business users.

• You’ve uncovered high-impact AI use cases in Underwriting that move key metrics around risk selection and efficiency.
• You’ve helped Pareto better ingest and make use of unstructured or non-standardized data.
• You’ve delivered AI-enabled products or features that improve customer experience—whether through personalization, targeting, or automation.
• You’ve fostered a culture of AI literacy, curiosity, and cross-functional collaboration.

Who You Are:

• Product-driven: You’ve led the creation of AI/ML-enabled products from vision to launch and iteration.
• Technically conversant: You can hold your own in discussions on LLMs, predictive modeling, NLP, and vector databases—even if you’re not the one coding.
• Business-minded: You’re laser-focused on how AI drives value, and how to measure that impact.
• Communicative & collaborative: You make complex ideas clear, and you build trust across technical and non-technical teams.
• Curious & self-starting: You don’t wait for a roadmap—you write it.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years delivering AI/ML-powered tools.
• Demonstrated experience with unstructured data challenges and automation.
• Exposure to underwriting, insurance, or healthcare analytics (strongly preferred).
