Extend is backed by some of the most prominent technology investors in the industry, and our headquarters is in downtown San Francisco.

About the Role:

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. This is a hybrid technical and operational role focused on ensuring data integrity across Extend’s financial and operational systems, especially within Claim Reimbursement and Contract Sales. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Reporting, and Engineering to ensure alignment between systems and help streamline processes that ensure our Servicers and Merchants are paid accurately and efficiently.

You’ll play a key role in shaping and scaling our data processes, contributing to reconciliation and audit readiness while building robust, well-documented pipelines in Snowflake and DBT. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, systems-minded environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and improve the data workflows related to Claim Reimbursement and Contract Sales, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reconciliation with partners.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake and DBT to support reliable and auditable operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting, Engineering, Operations, and Reporting to align and reconcile internal and external financial data.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems and assist with internal and external audits through well-documented, traceable data practices.
  • Enhance and support integrations with Service Providers and Merchants to improve timeliness and accuracy of claim expense reporting and payments.
  • Utilize tools like Thunderclient and other API clients to interface with production systems when necessary.
  • Identify, investigate, and fix data quality issues, recommending process improvements to reduce errors and manual interventions.
  • Help extend and evolve our data quality standards and operational analytics practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2-4 years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role focused on operational data systems.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with Snowflake and DBT.
  • Proficiency with API interaction and tools like Thunderclient or Postman.
  • Familiarity with reconciliation, financial audit preparation, and cross-system data integrity best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to proactively identify and address data inconsistencies.
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup or cross-functional environment is a plus.
  • Bonus: Experience working with claims, reimbursements, or financial data operations.

Expected Pay Range: $135,000 per year salaried*

\* The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

Our Culture:

Remote Work:

We are 100% remote, with team members located across the USA. While we respect work-life balance, collaboration during core hours is expected.

If you’re passionate about building resilient data platforms and enjoy working in a collaborative, remote-first environment, we encourage you to apply. Please include your resume and, in your application, describe your philosophy on layering data transformations and how it assists in an orderly data warehouse.

  • Competitive salary based on experience, with full medical and dental & vision benefits.
  • Stock in an early-stage startup growing quickly.
  • Generous, flexible paid time off policy.
