We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their communities and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live experiences, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.

Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we’re leaders in that space, with:

  • $8 billion+ in revenue generated since Patreon’s inception

  • 60 million+ free new memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and

  • 10 million+ fans paying each month for exclusive access to creators’ work and community.

We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Social Community Manager to support our mission.

This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model or remotely in Los Angeles. This is also a contract position between July-December 2025 at 40 hours/week with the possibility of moving into full-time.

About the Team

The Social Media Team, housed within Marketing and Operations, is a group of social-first creators and strategists who operate at the intersection of creativity, culture, fandom, and technology.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for amplifying both Patreon’s brand and leadership voices across our suite of social channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, Bluesky, LinkedIn), and finding creative ways to be a part of relevant cultural and creator conversations. You’ll work closely with the team to support our social programming and marketing initiatives, including leading engagement-first activations, writing creative social copy, and staying active and engaged with our Patreon community on social platforms.

Our ideal partner has a great pulse on social trends and conversations taking off in culture. They are experienced in managing multiple projects and work streams across platforms and have high attention to detail. Above all else, they’re excited about the opportunity that comes with working at a creator-first company, inspired to make a huge impact through social, and are always looking for thoughtful solutions to challenges.

  • Lead proactive and reactive community engagement efforts for @Patreon’s Instagram, X, Bluesky, and LinkedIn channels, as well as Jack Conte’s Instagram channel

  • Monitor tagged brand posts and mentions across Instagram, X, Bluesky, and LinkedIn

  • Identify and source promising, zeitgeisty creators that align with Patreon’s values and goals for potential acquisition or collaboration opportunities.

  • Identify new social content opportunities for Patreon, and work closely with the Social and Marketing teams to bring ideas to life through content creation and community engagement

  • Collaborate closely with our Social Marketing Manager on our social calendar, and help with writing caption copy as needed to support Patreon’s social posts and programming

  • Assist the Social Media team with social listening and reporting, including metrics around community growth, engagement, and sentiment

  • Work with our Community Support team to ensure customer service or creator inquiries made via social are handled in a timely manner

About You

  • Can speak to the internet zeitgeist. You’re on the pulse of what’s trending with creators to fuel your ideas.

  • Experience engaging with creators and their fandoms on social, actively championing and celebrating the creative process and all the experiences that come with it for creators

  • Experience writing social caption copy for brand programming, specifically for platforms like Instagram and X

  • Ability to work across several projects at once, and manage your time so projects are completed on schedule

  • Familiarity with social media management tools: You have experience using platforms like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Brandwatch or similar tools to monitor real-time social conversations, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to engage with wider social communities

  • Preferred, but not required: You are proficient in developing and editing social media assets in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or equivalents, and can assist with light graphic design when needed.

  • At least 3+ years engaging with communities via social media, either helping world class brands’ social and/or creators’ social across platforms with smart engagement strategies and content

  • Proven ability to nurture and speak to social communities, understanding the nuances of conversation happening on one social platform vs. another.

  • Creator at heart. You understand what creators go through and can draw from this to inspire your ideas

  • Internal and external collaboration

  • Operational excellence and attention to detail
