As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining applications with a strong focus on database structure and cloud integration. You’ll work closely with cloud-native technologies—preferably in Azure—and play a key role in managing data models, designing table structures, and ensuring application stability.
You may work 100% remotely if you are currently living in LATAM, or you can always join us at the office in Montevideo, Uruguay!
Job Description
- Design and maintain backend applications with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Structure and manage databases (Cosmos DB, key/value, or PostgreSQL) within Azure cloud.
- Define and implement application states and data flows.
- Collaborate with engineers to model and create efficient database schemas and tables.
- Develop and maintain backend logic using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Work closely with cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability and robustness.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of the system.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders about progress and technical decisions.
Qualifications
- Solid experience as a Backend Engineer or Software Engineer with a strong focus on data modeling and cloud environments.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Strong understanding of database structures, including Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, or other key/value stores.
- Experience working in cloud platforms, preferably Azure (AWS/GCP also acceptable).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Self-starter with a structured and detail-oriented approach to development.
What about languages?
You will need excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication with the team.
How much experience must I have?
We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
