SUMMARY
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive, and high-functioning legal team as we expand our legal presence in the U.S. We are seeking a talented, creative, and public sector-focused attorney with expertise in public sector requirements, regulations, and procurement practices. The ideal candidate will have significant experience navigating the complexities of U.S. public sector contracting (both federal government and state, local, and education), compliance with government regulations, transactions via distributors and resellers, and an understanding of data privacy and security standards applicable to government entities.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment where cross-functional collaboration and teamwork are key. You should be comfortable managing sophisticated contracts, particularly in the public sector, and be passionate about closing deals in compliance with public procurement rules and under government-wide acquisition contracts. You will play a pivotal role in providing top-notch legal service while working closely with other teams to ensure contracts are finalized smoothly. You will report to our Legal Director, GTM Public Sector.
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, brings sound legal and business judgment, and can skillfully balance legal requirements with practical business solutions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you’ll be engaging with cross-functional teams and government clients. A deep interest in learning about Wiz and our unique value to public sector customers is a must.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Be a legal business partner to Wiz’s revenue teams summarizing and communicating legal concepts and risks in a way that is meaningful for business teams.
Take ownership of the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of a wide range of legal agreements. Advise your fellow Wizards on contract interpretation and negotiation to accelerate contract velocity.
Seek to understand the context of the positions of Wiz’s customers and the requests from Wiz’s internal clients, and strive to solve problems and address issues from their perspective.
Triage a heavy workflow, setting appropriate priorities with internal clients and delivering results efficiently.
Support the continuous improvement of agreement templates and legal processes, and work within CPQ and CLM platforms and associated practices and procedures.
Manage agreements to comply with company policies and risk tolerance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
8+ years of in-house experience is required, technology company experience is preferred, with an emphasis on public-sector contracting and compliance.
Knowledge of data privacy and experience handling and dealing with data privacy related questions when negotiating SaaS Subscription Agreements is required.
Familiarity with major government-wide acquisition contracts (GWACs) and procurement vehicles.
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in at least one U.S. state, with a demonstrated record of success as a lawyer.
Strong “business-friendly” style that comes with an understanding that the legal team’s primary purpose is to support the growth and success of the business.
Ability to structure, draft and negotiate a high volume and broad range of contracts, including SaaS contracts, professional services agreements, partner agreements and NDAs.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to advocate for a position while maintaining a collaborative and open-minded approach.
Ability to work independently on a remote basis and as a member of a team.
Experience with Salesforce, Slack, DocuSign, and contract lifecycle management systems.
Candidates must meet EAR part 772 and ITAR 120.15 definition of a U.S. person and reside in the contiguous United States.

Compensation
Starting compensation will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s job-related experience, skills and geographic location. Your Talent Partner can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
This role is eligible to participate in Wiz’s equity plan and may also include incentive compensation.
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is listed below.
US Base Pay Range
$207,000—$285,000 USD
