Job Summary
The Compensation and Payroll Analyst will be a key contributor to our People and Culture team. They will make critical contributions towards designing and managing Nextech’s compensation plans and policies for the organization’s overall compensation strategy. The Compensation and Payroll Analyst will be responsible for payroll audits using the ADP platform and will support payroll processing as needed. They will work closely with our Payroll Team, People and Culture team, and Accounting Team to provide exceptional service to our employee base. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of US Labor Laws, Federal and State compliance, paired with a strong analytical background, excellent data literacy, a solid understanding of HR practices and strong communication skills.

Essential Functions

Compensation Duties:
- Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive org-wide compensation program to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
- Support Nextech’s compensation strategy while ensuring compliance, pay equity, and market competitiveness.
- Gather market intelligence, identify emerging compensation trends, and prepare reports for recommendations based on research.
- Deliver compensation scales to support job level guides and merit process.
- Provide support in the annual compensation cycle and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Recommend efficiencies and modifications to better use existing technology.
- Assist in developing reports, guides, and training materials to support informed compensation decisions.
- Partner with HRBP team to help evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs and processes and look for improvements and automations.
- Conduct regular pay equity reviews and maintenance, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Payroll Duties:
- Perform regular payroll audits, provide reporting from ADP, and performance management tools.
- Serve as the backup payroll processor for a multi-state payroll for 540+ employees.
- Ensure compliance with US Labor Laws, Federal, State and Local regulations.
General Analyst Duties:
- Design user-friendly processes, guidelines, and documentation for use within the P&C team, as needed.
- Ensure all HR-related systems are compliant with data protection laws.
- Provide support to internal customers by building/creating complex ad hoc reports and analysis.
- Carry out additional responsibilities assigned based on business need.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compensation, payroll, finance, or other HR analytical roles.
- Experience processing, auditing, and analyzing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees.
- Experience with ADP HRIS.
- Advanced Excel skills (i.e., pivot tables, lookups).
- Experience with compensation programs, market pricing, salary structure design and development, job evaluation, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations at Federal and State level.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to deliver concise, accurate reports and analysis to various departments.
- Requires the ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problems.
- Requires ability to work independently, plan, organize, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.

- Requires ability to maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Current and Arrears Payroll cycles.
- Experience transitioning from Current to Arrears payroll.
- Experience with 15Five Performance Management Software
- Experience with Workday
- Advanced Excel skills (Macros)
Working Environment/Physical Demands
- Remote - Work from home
- Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 10% travel.
- Activities require a significant amount of work in front of a computer monitor.
