Job description
IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking creative, motivated editors to join our content development team.
In this role, you will edit English Language Arts assessment content for grammar, usage, style, tone, and factual accuracy, collaborating with curriculum designers to produce perfectly polished educational materials.
This is a remote, 1099 consulting role for three months with a possible extension.#LI-REMOTE
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Reviewing assessment content to ensure that it is:
- factually accurate
- clear, cohesive, and organized
- free from grammar and usage errors
- informative, engaging, and grade-level appropriate
- reflective of project-specific guidelines and sample items
- aligned to an in-house style guide and the Chicago Manual of Style
- Communicating with curriculum designers in a professional and dependable manner
- Providing clear, precise, and actionable feedback to content writers
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- BA/BS degree, preferably in English, creative writing, or a related field
- At least three years of professional content editing and copy editing experience
- Understanding of K–12 students’ reading and knowledge levels
- Deep knowledge of English grammar and conventions
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply conventions consistently
- Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience editing educational materials, including assessments (preferred)
- Experience using online content management and communication systems (preferred)
