Job description

Welcome to Brightline! We are searching for a Corporate Strategy Director. This position will play a critical role in shaping and executing Brightline’s strategic roadmap to accelerate growth, improve access, and deliver value across new and existing markets. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this leader will work cross-functionally with Business Operations, Finance, Clinical, and Product teams to bring strategic initiatives from concept through operational implementation. Focus areas include market selection, care model expansion, school-based and public sector growth, M&A, and value-based care enablement.

This is an ideal role for someone who can translate long-term vision into operational plans, and who thrives in a high-growth, mission-driven environment that balances strategic rigor with fast execution.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Partner with the CGO to define and evolve Brightline’s multi-year growth strategy, grounded in market, payer, and population insights.

  • Translate strategy into detailed workstreams with timelines, milestones, KPIs, and clear functional ownership.

  • Serve as the cross-functional lead for initiatives that span clinical, financial, and operational domains.

Geographic & Market Expansion:

  • Lead Brightline’s new market entry strategy, including evaluating population needs, partnerships, employer and payer coverage, regulatory feasibility, and financial viability of new geographies/MSAs.

  • Build business cases in partnership with Finance and drive cross-functional alignment for new market launches.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of newly launched markets through structured feedback loops.

Care Model Expansion (Age & Acuity):

  • Evaluate and implement strategies to expand Brightline’s model to new age ranges (e.g., transition-age youth, young adults) and acuity levels (e.g., IOP, crisis response).

  • Work closely with Clinical and Operations to ensure readiness for clinical quality, staffing, reimbursement, and compliance requirements.

  • Ensure initiatives are designed with scalability and efficiency from the outset.

Next Generation Growth Strategy:

  • Lead strategy and execution of school-based care models and partnerships with public sector entities (e.g., Medicaid agencies, school districts).

  • Build repeatable playbooks for K–12 partnerships, including contracting, implementation, and operational support.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Compliance to navigate public funding, billing models, and reporting requirements.

Mergers, Acquisitions & Partnerships:

  • Support the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer and CGO in identifying, evaluating, and integrating strategic acquisitions or partnerships that enhance geographic reach, capacity, or technology.

  • Partner with Business Operations to ensure alignment of integration plans with care delivery, technology, and compliance requirements.

Value-Based Care Strategy:

  • Collaborate with Finance and Clinical to explore and implement value-based contracting models, including outcomes-based payments and shared savings arrangements.

  • Develop the infrastructure to support reporting, measurement, and accountability in risk-bearing agreements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance:

  • Act as the connective tissue across Growth, Operations, Clinical, and Product teams to drive execution of key initiatives.

  • Partner with Business Operations and Finance to establish tracking systems, dashboards, and financial models tied to strategic priorities.

  • Prepare executive-level updates and materials for the CGO, executive team, and Board of Directors.

Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, business operations, corporate development, or consulting, including 2–3+ years in a strategy consulting role.

  • Proven track record of leading and executing initiatives in healthcare services, digital health, or behavioral health.

  • Experience working cross-functionally to scale operations or launch new service lines across multi-site and multi-state environments.

  • Strong analytical mindset with financial fluency—able to build models, size markets, and translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Excellent project management skills; able to drive complex initiatives forward across multiple stakeholders and teams.

  • Clear and concise communicator with strong presentation skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Comfortable balancing data-driven approaches with hypothesis-led decision-making.

  • Pragmatic, action-oriented, and able to switch between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

  • Collaborative, low-ego leader who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional, and evolving environments.

  • Mission-aligned with Brightline’s focus on transforming pediatric behavioral health.

  • Curious, adaptable, and energized by building new, innovative solutions.

We offer several benefits, perks, and stipends:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and 401k

  • 12 Company Holidays + Floating Holidays, Holiday Shutdown, Flexible Time Off, Parental Leave

  • Health and Wellness Stipend, Home Office Reimbursement and Professional Development Reimbursement

  • Stock Options
