About the Job

OffSec seeks an adaptable and results-driven Content Developer to join our global team. This role blends cybersecurity expertise, hands-on lab development, and technical content creation to build engaging online courses and certifications. Success in this role requires creative problem solving, attention to detail, and proactive management of multiple projects independently while collaborating crossfunctionally with peers and colleagues. In addition to familiarity with cybersecurity certifications, the ideal candidate will have experience creating training content, designing and testing virtual lab environments, and working across a breadth and depth of cybersecurity expertise.

In addition to penetration testing, we are particularly interested in candidates with domain expertise in the following areas: cloud, LLMs, DF|IR|TH, mobile

Duties and responsibilities

Course Development

  • Craft cybersecurity instructional content that emphasizes hands-on learning, aligns with sound learning principles, and is accessible to a range of skill levels.
  • Review, edit, and refine course materials for clarity, accuracy, and consistency with learning scope and objectives, incorporating stakeholder feedback and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate daily with teams within and adjacent to Content toward the seamless integration of hands-on labs, content updates, and course revisions, addressing challenges and emergent needs.

Content Engineering

  • Design and develop cybersecurity training environments and simulations, leveraging virtual machines, cloud services, and automation tools to ensure real-world applicability and a seamless learner experience.
  • Create detailed build guides for virtual machine environments, coordinating with engineers for implementation, followed by testing and iterative revisions to ensure accuracy and integration with content and learning platforms.
  • Collaborate with Content and Infrastructure teams to ensure labs integrate smoothly into learning management systems, troubleshooting technical issues and refining simulations for accuracy and usability.

Applied Technical Expertise

  • Leverage deep cybersecurity knowledge to design realistic, real-world security challenges, ensuring the integration of the latest attack techniques and defensive strategies into training environments.
  • Test and validate the accuracy and effectiveness of training content and simulations, using hands-on experience in penetration testing to refine scenarios, demonstrate techniques, and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Research emerging cybersecurity threats and case studies, incorporating new techniques and best practices into training content to enable learners to be prepared for the latest cybersecurity challenges.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in cybersecurity, lab creation, and content development (in order of priority)
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Azure and Active Directory attacks, including enumeration, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and persistence techniques.
  • Proficient in PowerShell, C# and Python.
  • Experience bypassing security solutions like antivirus, application control, and EDR.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with an ability to express complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent research skills (data gathering, analysis, fact-checking).
  • Ability to adapt explanations to different audiences, ensuring clarity and comprehension.
  • Familiarity with content development principles, including learning experiences, assessment design, production workflows, and content quality.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with teams across global, cross-functional environments.

Working conditions

This role is a full-time salaried position. Work hours for this position are flexible, and will be performed remotely from anywhere in the world.
