As a Data Analyst 2, you will bring your expertise to an expanding team within the Hospitality unit’s product department. This team acts as a strategic data partner, working closely with diverse product squads to provide expert insights and data-driven solutions that inform development decisions and optimize product performance. As a key player in shaping Lightspeed’s future, you’ll play an integral role in building actionable data expertise within our forward-looking organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:

Partner with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs, delivering tailored, strategic data solutions. Clearly communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring alignment across teams. - Lead Advanced Data Analysis:

Perform and lead complex analyses, such as segmentation, customer health assessments, and impact measurements of development initiatives, guiding product direction and business decisions. - Develop Data Warehouse Solutions:

Create, maintain, and test scalable data warehouse solutions using Python to ensure data integrity and reliability. Implement automated testing frameworks and leverage CI/CD pipelines to proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data infrastructure. - DynamoDB Data Extraction and Visualization:

Script advanced interactions with DynamoDB to extract data and develop real-time visualizations that provide critical business insights. - Dashboard and Report Development:

Build, optimize, and innovate dashboards using tools like Heap and BigQuery to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and inform data-driven decisions. - Mentorship:

Mentor and guide data analysts, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment while exemplifying technical expertise and effective problem-solving. - Innovative Problem-Solving:

Take ownership of complex data challenges, proactively supporting Product teams with data-driven insights that empower informed decision-making. - Generate Business Insights:

Translate complex data sets into actionable business insights, helping teams understand product performance through behavioral analysis and key metrics. - Customer Data Platform Management:

Optimize the data flow through platforms like Segment to ensure effective use of customer data in product development and customer success strategies.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of professional experience using Python for data analysis, including advanced scripting and real-time data processing.
    • 5+ years of experience with SQL, with familiarity in BigQuery and Dataform as a plus.
    • Experience scripting and accessing data in DynamoDB.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Python Proficiency: Expertise in data extraction, processing, and advanced analyses (Pydantic, Scikit-learn, Poetry).
    • SQL Proficiency: Advanced skills in SQL for querying large datasets and data manipulation.
    • Version Control: Experience with Git, including collaborating through commits, pull requests (PRs), and code reviews.
    • Data Warehousing: Strong knowledge of data warehouse development and testing using Python and SQL, with experience in cloud-based platforms such as BigQuery.
    • Data Visualization: Experience with real-time data visualization tools like Matplotlib, Plotly, or Dash.
  • As a Plus:

    • Experience with customer data platforms like Segment and analytics tools such as Heap.
    • Familiarity with AWS CLI and SDKs (e.g., Boto3 for Python) to interact with AWS.
    • Experience working with data warehouses, particularly Dataform or similar data transformation frameworks.
  • Business Acumen & Creativity:

Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and present them effectively, with a creative approach to solving data challenges.
