THE ROLE

As a Data Engineerat Career.io, you will play a critical role in shaping our data infrastructure and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual with strong engineering principles and a deep understanding of data warehousing, data governance, and modern data engineering tools.

This is a 100% remote/work-from-home role, and open to most locations/countries.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Warehouse Management: Design, build, and maintain a robust multi-stage data warehouse infrastructure, with a focus on Snowflake, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Manage efficient ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
  • DBT Integration: Implement and optimize dbt (data build tool) for data transformation, modeling, and documentation, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Data Testing: Implement comprehensive data testing procedures, including unit tests, integration tests, and validation checks, to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and product managers, to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights.
  • Stay Current: Stay up-to-date with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

THE MUST-HAVES

  • 3-5 years experience in data engineering
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake data warehousing technologies.
  • Proficiency in dbt for data transformation and modeling
  • Strong expertise in data ingestion with both UI tools & code-based ones
  • Experience with orchestration (Airflow, Prefect).
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of data testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as SQL, Python, or Go.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

THE NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
