We need an English-fluent Database Engineer, based in Latin America, available to work remotely.

Responsibilities:
- Design and architect database solutions based on best practices and client requirements, with a strong emphasis on AWS RDS.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
- Present technical solutions to clients and address their questions and concerns.
- Provision, configure, and deploy database instances in AWS RDS (MSSQL, MySQL) and on-premises environments (MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring business continuity.
- Conduct major upgrades of databases with detailed look at application requirements.
- Migrate existing databases to new platforms or cloud environments.
- Conduct performance analysis and identify database bottlenecks.
- Optimize database performance in AWS RDS environments.
- Provide expert guidance on database performance best practices.
- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Implement data encryption both in transit, and at rest.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in database architecture, implementation, and administration across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Strong expertise in AWS RDS, particularly with MSSQL and MySQL, including provisioning, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with on-premises databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Proficiency in database migration strategies and tools, including lift-and-shift to cloud platforms.
- Solid understanding of database performance analysis and tuning techniques, including query optimization and index management.
- Excellent knowledge of database security principles, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
- Experience conducting security audits and implementing remediation strategies for vulnerabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, such as architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
It´s a Plus:
- Experience creating and maintaining RDS instances.
- Understanding of MongoDB and its query language.
- Experience with MSSQL and MySQL in both on-prem and cloud environments.
Compensation:
- The Salary range offered for this position varies from (USD) $2,000 - $5,000 per month, depending on seniority and skillset.
- This position is for an independent contractor, through a payroll platform.
- The talent will work REMOTELY allocated at our client.
