Summary
GRNET is seeking a System Administrator/DevOps Engineer to help push the Digital Transformation of the Public Sector. The role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring distributed services as part of a team that delivers mission-critical services. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with Linux system administration, familiar with DevOps practices, container orchestration, automation tools, and have experience working in teams (preferably in an Agile delivery environment).
Requirements
- Collaborate with multiple people and teams based on a policy of openness
- Design and/or dimension, and/or set up scalable cloud infrastructure components
- Understand the development, deployment, and operations cycle and facilitate smooth transitions between them
- Maintain and operate distributed, fault-tolerant, and scalable applications and services
- Bring technical opinions to the table and support them with arguments
Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and monitor a number of distributed services
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with automation tools and techniques (Ansible, Terraform …)
- Container Orchestration using Kubernetes and associated tools like Helm, Kompose, etc
- Experience with GitOps
- Knowledge of Load balancers (nginx, HAProxy, Envoy, Traefik) and service meshes (linkerd, istio etc.)
- Experience working in teams (preferably in an Agile delivery environment)
