Position Purpose
As a direct report of the Vice President, Agency Services, and member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s (BBBSA) Agency Growth team, the Director, Agency Services - Strategic Growth is a dual role providing direct support to a portfolio of agencies and leading growth across the entire Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) network of agencies.
The Director holds primary and collaborative responsibility for supporting, coaching, and guiding a designated portfolio of BBBS agencies. They will operate as the first point of contact for their portfolio of agencies to accelerate growth and align with network-wide initiatives across key indicators within people development, capacity building, revenue, media, youth, and volunteers served. The Director, Agency Services – Strategic Growth will also serve as an organizational development subject matter expert collaborating closely with the Chief Agency Growth Officer and team to develop and implement scalable strategies to advance the growth goals of local agencies. Responsibilities will include supporting the development of turnkey, customizable resources for local implementation of growth strategies to increase organizational local agency strength and growth by lifting best practices, resources, etc. and convening agencies for learning, sharing, growth opportunities. Expertise in organizational development trends including, but not limited to, nonprofit growth strategies, mergers, acquisitions, Board development, advancing philanthropy, etc.
Location: Continental United States (100% Remote) FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt Travel: Approximately 30-40%
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
One-to-One Agency Support
- Deliver a range of consultative services and capacity building supports to help assigned agencies achieve their goals for growth, including supports related to volunteer experience, strategic planning, resource development, program implementation, technology, and advancement of mentorship services.
- Promote targeted BBBSA services and peer-to-peer mentoring/sharing to generate greater adoption of “models that work” across the network and generate stronger measures of reach (youth served), relevancy (market penetration), revenue (fundraising) and resource (thriving organizations).
- Provide responsive customer service to requests for support, displaying empathy, adaptability, and accountability to address the evolving needs and priorities among agency leaders.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Agency Services, Chief Agency Growth Officer and/or President and Chief Executive Officer.
Strategic Growth Subject Matter Expert
- Identify and address network trends in agency growth through collaboration with the BBBSA Chief Agency Growth Officer to develop scalable solutions, including development of strategies, tools, and implementation support. This includes support in lifting network best practices, successes, and scalable opportunities for agency organizational strength.
- Grow agency-level organizational development expertise and capacity through peer-to-peer sharing, agency mentoring, skill-building workshops and other BBBSA supports in collaboration with BBBSA Resource Development, National & Regional Conference and Learning & Development teams.
- Provide high-touch support and guidance to help assigned agencies achieve their goals for growth while also assisting other members of the Agency Growth Team —including supports related to topics like new market assessments, competitive analyses, resource and capacity needs, partnership opportunities, etc.
- Partner closely across the organization to assess, identify and facilitate new and / or existing market expansion including new agency start-ups in targeted areas of needs, developing stronger protocol and guidance on when and how to expand.
- Represent the agency perspective in the BBBSA prioritization and development of organizational growth strategies, campaigns (It Takes Little to be Big), initiatives (120th Anniversary) and serve as a liaison to the Marketing, Communications, and Resource Development teams.

Education & Related Work Experience
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or professional experience
- Years of Related Work Experience: A minimum of seven years in a relevant director-level position required, preferably in a nonprofit federated or similar affiliated model; experience leading organizational growth and impact in new or existing markets.
- Experience developing partnerships and raising funds for and/or in collaboration with local or national nonprofits organizations.
