The Role
We are looking for a Director of Martech & Data Architecture to lead the strategic development and implementation of first-party data strategies across our client portfolio. In this role, you’ll serve as the thought leader on marketing data infrastructure—shaping how we tag client websites, capture user events, structure metadata, and activate data through CDPs and CRM platforms.
This role is equal parts strategist, architect, and consultant—working across marketing, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure our clients’ marketing technology stacks are purpose-built for performance, scale, and sustainability. You’ll lead a team focused on implementing modern, privacy-conscious tracking frameworks and integrating that data into media, CRM, and customer experience platforms.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $140,000 - $175,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.
This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.
*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

You Will Be
- Defining and overseeing the first-party data strategy for client websites, including tagging frameworks, event schemas, and audience architecture
- Leading implementation of data layer strategies to ensure accurate and comprehensive event capture across web, app, and offline environments
- Serving as the strategic lead on martech infrastructure projects, from CDP rollouts to CRM and server-side tracking integrations
- Consulting clients on how to use people, process, and platforms to get the most value out of their marketing tech stack
- Architecting scalable tagging strategies that translate seamlessly into media audiences, conversion events, and downstream analytics
- Managing and mentoring a team of analytics and martech engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and cross-functional excellence
- Evaluating and implementing server-side tracking, consent frameworks, and privacy-first solutions to meet compliance and performance needs
- Collaborating with data science, media, and analytics teams to connect tracking infrastructure with actionable insights and media activation
- Staying current on martech trends, tools, and privacy regulations—and translating those into actionable strategies for our clients
You Must Have
- 7+ years of experience in digital analytics, marketing technology, or data architecture, including client-facing consulting roles within an advertising agency environment (preferred) and/or client (Brand) environment
- 3+ years leading teams in analytics engineering, martech consulting, or similar fields
- Deep hands-on experience with tag management systems (e.g., GTM, Tealium, Segment, Adobe Launch)
- Familiarity with CDP and CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Adobe Experience Platform, or similar
- Strong understanding of first-party data capture, event schema design, and digital media attribution
- Fluency in web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, APIs) and comfort architecting data flows between web/app environments and cloud platforms
- Familiarity with both CRM and marketing automation platforms (MAPs); experience bridging both for audience activation is a strong plus
- Working knowledge of ETL and reverse ETL processes to support seamless data flow between systems
- Experience with privacy and consent management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, Cookiebot) and server-side tracking (e.g., sGTM, CAPI)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex martech concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience designing or managing customer data platforms (e.g., creating identity graphs, audience pipelines)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and data pipelines (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS)
- Experience with MAPs (e.g., Iterable, Braze, Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and audience activation strategies
- Thought leadership experience—speaking at events, publishing insights, or leading client workshops
- A passion for data governance, scalable frameworks, and making martech more human-centric
