The Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our fast-growing Technology team here at Wpromote. You will design data engineering solutions for enterprise clients across a variety of MarTech and AdTech platforms. You’ll plan how data needs to flow across each client’s MarTech stack so the data can be used in Polaris, our proprietary tech platform. You’ll build data models using BigQuery and dbt, designing them for use across reporting, apps, and media forecasting. The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $87,000-$105,000 based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.
*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US

You Will Be
- Gathering data source, data joining, data model, and data transformation requirements from stakeholders (clients and internal teams) and working with the visualization team to develop dashboards and validate data quality
- Managing and monitoring multiple data pipelines and ETL tasks related to multiple client data streams
- Assisting in the creation of a reliable and scalable infrastructure for data model builds, data set QA, and data set outputs
- Working with internal stakeholders to understand and then execute against data transformation, data model, and inbound/outbound data pipeline requirements
You Must Have
- 3-5 years of experience in reporting, BI, or data engineering
- Experience with SQL, database design, and data manipulation methodologies
- Experience working with API calls for the purposes of gathering and storing large datasets (batch or streaming)
- Experience with at least one cloud platform (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Experience with at least one programming language (Python, R, AppScript, JavaScript, etc.), preferably JavaScript or Python
- Familiarity with data engineering and workflow management frameworks (Airflow, dbt)
- Knowledge of database and data warehousing design and managementUnderstanding of ETL process and data modeling experience using SQL
- Attention to detail with the ability to debug and troubleshoot code/queries
- A collaborative mentality with the ability to work independently
- General business and marketing data acumen including an understanding of common marketing goals, KPIs, and tactics
Nice To Have
- Experience with digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
- Experience with Project Management Platforms (JIRA, Asana)
- Knowledge/experience in the digital marketing industry
- Curiosity to continuously learn more about digital marketing and marketing technology
